This is a documentary about the relation between architecture, music and World War II. And it’s about the connection between the Netherlands and the US. I made it while I was living in Washington DC (2018 – 2023). I would like to dedicate this movie to US veteran David Marshall. He’s such an inspiration. I also want to thank professor Diederik Oostdijk. His enthusiasm is infectious and I can’t thank him enough for the many hours he invested in my project. And I would like to thank carilloneur Frank Steijns, who took me all the way up in the tower of the city hall in Maastricht, to play some music just for me and my film. And last but not least I want to thank the Netherlands embassy in Washington DC. I couldn’t have done it without the help of the great people who work(ed) there.
This a movie about the fear of happiness. Having it all can be hard sometimes. Watch my 2016 debut short film Äffchen (Little Monkey). A psychological thriller, made in Vienna, Austria, with my friends from the Filmschule Wien.
Charlotte lives in Vienna and has to spend New Year’s Eve alone. Then the attractive neighbor shows up. Is it a good idea to celebrate this special evening with him? Watch my second short film Pilot (2017), a psychological thriller, made in Vienna, Austria, with my friends from the Filmschule Wien.
